Kathy Collier has over 25 years of experience as a public finance attorney. She has served as bond counsel and counsel to borrowers, issuers, trustees, lenders, banks, and underwriters or placement agents in a variety of public finance transactions. She has handled the issuance of notes by corporations, conduit financings through governmental authorities for both for-profit and non-profit entities, and credit-enhanced transactions. She also has worked on the formation of governmental authorities and various acquisition transactions involving health care facilities. Kathy also has experience serving as company and trustee counsel in connection with various types of investment agreements and as company counsel and provider counsel in various interest rate swap transactions. Kathy joined Presley Burton & Collier, LLC, in 2004, after practicing at a major Alabama firm for over twenty years.

Kathy was born in Mobile, Alabama. She received her law degree from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1979, where she was Associate Editor of the Alabama Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif, a Hugo Black Scholar and selected for membership in Omicron Delta Kappa. Prior to law school, she attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana from which she graduated magna cum laude in 1976 and where she was selected for membership in Phi Kappa Phi. She is a member of the Birmingham and American Bar Associations and the Alabama State Bar. She is also a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
